Cents-per-point calculator
Plug in any award redemption to see its cents-per-point (CPP) value and whether it beats the typical benchmark for that card's points.
—
How CPP is calculated: (cash price − taxes paid in cash) ÷ points used × 100. Higher is better. A value at or above the benchmark means the redemption is "good"; below means you'd do better cashing out for travel credit.
How to use this calculator
- Cash price: the all-in revenue fare (not just base fare) you would pay to book the same flight with cash.
- Points used: the mileage quote the airline or program shows for your award.
- Taxes and fees: subtract the cash amount you pay with the award so we're comparing the points-only portion.
- Benchmark: a "good" redemption usually beats the program's baseline travel-portal value. International premium cabins can reach 4–8¢ per point.
