Interline Agreement
A bilateral agreement between airlines to accept each other's tickets and baggage.
Full definition
Interline agreements let airlines sell tickets that include segments on each other. If you book JFK-LAX on AA and LAX-HNL on Hawaiian as a single ticket, the two carriers interline. This is different from a codeshare (single flight number) — interline is cross-airline single itinerary.
