Redemption
The act of using miles or points to book a flight, hotel, or other travel.
Full definition
A redemption is the completion of a points transaction — spending accumulated miles to get a ticket or room. Good redemptions have high CPP; bad redemptions have low CPP (usually below the program's benchmark rate).
Counting CPP alone isn't enough: a redemption that gets you on the flight you wanted with the people you wanted beats a higher-CPP redemption that doesn't fit your plans.
