Banks run periodic transfer bonuses to select airline partners — typically 20%-40%, occasionally up to 100%. A 30% Chase-to-Virgin bonus turns 50,000 UR into 65,000 Virgin miles.
Strategy: set a saved search for your target award, wait for a bonus to the relevant program, then transfer. Bonuses to specific programs (Virgin Atlantic, Iberia, Aeroplan) return regularly; less popular partners rarely see bonuses.
