Transfer Partner

An airline or hotel loyalty program that accepts points transferred from a bank's flexible points program.

Full definition

Transfer partners are the bridge between bank points (Chase UR, Amex MR, Capital One, Citi TY, Bilt) and airline/hotel programs. Chase UR transfers to 14 partners including United, Virgin Atlantic, Air France/KLM, Hyatt, and Marriott. Amex MR transfers to 19+ partners. Each bank's list is different.

Transfer ratios are usually 1:1 (1,000 bank points = 1,000 airline miles) but occasionally 5:4, 2:1, or 1,000:1,600 (Amex to Aeromexico). Always verify the ratio before transferring.
